The Name
In Greek mythology, Hippolyta is the queen of the Amazons. In the DC Universe she is the queen of the Amazons and mother of Wonder Woman. However, the inspiration for the name of this typeface comes from the TV series Love Craft Country. The character Hippolyta is constantly put on the sidelines as a dutiful wife, mother, and aunt until she is empowered to name her own role in her own story.
